Through the tunnel

Four arches and a dryer, one lane, three minutes. Here is what each one does to your paint.

Complete

Dry, then daylight

Contoured air dryers clear roof, glass and mirrors, and you roll out. Members just drive through again tomorrow.

  1. A spray bar lights up the arch above the car, mist falling across the windows and the door mirror.
    Arch 1 of 40:00 Pre-soak Fine spray from the first arch loosens road film, salt and bugs.Nothing touches the paint until the dirt has let go.
  2. Soft foam washer curtains sweep the tunnel in blue light, the car's tail lamps glowing red through them.
    Arch 2 of 40:35 Foam Thick, pH-balanced foam lifts what the soak loosened.Soft foam curtains glide over it, lubricated, never scrubbing dry paint.
  3. A magenta and blue soft-cloth washer spins down the side of a white car, its tail lamp glowing beside it.
    Arch 3 of 41:10 Soft cloth Closed-cell foam washers wrap the sides, the back and the wheels.They hold no grit and are rinsed clean between every car.
  4. The rinse arch blasts water across the front wing and wheel, spray flaring in the cyan light.

  5. A clean, glossy dark car rolls out of the last bay, water still beading on the door, daylight and trees beyond.

The detail studio works by hand, one car to a bay, under daylight panels. Book a bay; we keep the car as long as the work needs.

Getting in

  1. Turn in off Harbor Line Road at the light and keep right for the tunnel lanes.
  2. Members: the reader scans your tag and the gate lifts. Everyone else pays at the screen.
  3. The detail studio has its own door on the left, past the vacuum bays.
