The nursery

Where Cathy’s flowers start

Cathy grows her own flowers. Every bouquet begins in a bed, months before it reaches a door: this is the year of the flowers in the range.

The season guide

When each flower is usually at its best. This month is marked.

A general guide to Southern African seasons, not a stock list. What is on the bench changes with the weather; ask Cathy what is in.

Where it starts

A seedling in warm soil, a row of roses opening in the sun: Cathy’s flowers are months in the making before they are a day on the bench.

From our beds to the bench

Cut from the beds, stood in buckets, then sorted and tied into bouquets, arrangements, baskets and rose boxes.
