Houses, the river and the practice rooms.
What happens between the last lesson and lights out is half of a Corrowden education.
Four houses
Every pupil belongs to a house, day pupils included. Boarders sleep there; everyone eats, plays and argues there.
-
Weir House
Lower School, boys and girls in separate wings
Closest to Hall. Rooms of four, and a common room with a piano that is never quite in tune.
-
Quay House
Middle School boys
On the old quay, with the best view of the river and the steepest stairs.
-
Marsh House
Middle School girls
Rebuilt in 2019 around a courtyard garden the house looks after itself.
-
Strand House
Sixth Form, boys and girls in separate wings
Single study bedrooms and a kitchen where most of the debating happens.

The river
The boat club is the oldest thing at Corrowden after the customs house. Every pupil learns to row in the Lower School and about a third keep going. The estuary is tidal, so the boatman chalks the water times by the slipway each morning.

Music
Two orchestras, a chamber choir, a jazz band and a concert every Friday at 18:30 in the library under the dome. About half the school learns an instrument, and the first year of lessons is free.
